I have been healing and studying crystals for over 5 years. I studied and trained in Perth, Western Australia. I am now based in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. What is Crystal Reiki? Crystal Reiki is a unique method of holistic healing which combines the powerful energies of Reiki together with the therapeutic and healing properties of crystals. This technique amplifies healing in a powerful way. Let me explain the benefits and how these two powerful healing modalities can work together... Reiki energy is channelled from the Universal Life-Force, through the practitioner’s hands to the client. This energy transference goes to the deepest level; the ‘higher self’ or ‘soul self’ of the person receiving the healing. This brings about healing to an aspect of the body to where it is most needed. Reiki also works to cleanse the aura of negativity and impurities. Why is this so important? Because we want to attract positive people and situations into our life, rather than negative ones. Over time, our aura becomes "dirty", this is due to various negative factors in our environment (emotional, mental and physical). When this happens, we attract negative energy, instead of positive energy because ‘like attracts like’. Illness and disease is first registered in the energy field (the aura) before it manifests in the physical body so it makes sense to ensure our aura is clean at all times. Prevention is always better than cure! Therapeutic Crystals and how they work Crystals have been used for tens of thousands of years, dating back to Lemuria and Atlantis. Crystals work through vibration; rebalancing the energy field that surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body; thus activating and balancing the chakras. This is vital for our well-being as each chakra interacts with the physical body through two major vehicles, the endocrine system and the nervous system. Each crystal has its own unique vibration or energy frequency, which interacts with our body to bring about the necessary changes needed for healing. This may come in the form of a change in a core belief or perception, or a release of a repressed emotion held in the subconscious mind. For any form of healing to occur we need to understand the cause of what makes us ill and what our body is trying to communicate to us. As healing is a uniquely personal process, a crystal layout is chosen to suit a person’s individual needs. When the crystals are placed on the body they will interact with the energy field, bringing relief and insight into the cause of the illness or imbalance in the body. A Crystal Reiki treatment involves the transfer of energy from practitioner to client to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy. The energy goes to the deepest levels of a person’s being, working to bring about physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being; releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and working to create a sense of balance and harmony. A client relaxes lying down and remains fully clothed throughout, usually on a massage table. Crystals are intuitively selected for each client prior to the treatment and they will be introduced in the session and placed on various parts of the body, enhancing and supporting the Reiki treatment. The practitioner will place their hands gently on the body in a sequence of positions, starting at the head. Unlike massage, Reiki does not require any form of manipulation of the tissue or muscles and so the hands remain still. It is common for the person being treated to feel sensations or warmth or tingling from the practitioner’s hands. Most clients report entering a very deep state of relaxation during the treatment, which usually lasts for around one hour. After the treatment most clients have reported that they feel re-energised and rejuvenated; feeling more able to take on life’s challenges and are more positive about life in general. Each treatment includes an assessment of the clients, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual state of being.
